A set of three pewter dishes designed by Olof Ahlberg and produced by Schreuder & Olsson, Stockholm, each with relief decoration of fish.
Schreuder & Olsson were a well-regarded Swedish pewter workshop, producing functional objects with a strong emphasis on surface and form. Ahlberg’s designs sit comfortably within that tradition.
Fish are worked in low relief across the surface, scattered rather than formally arranged. The centres are left plain with a soft, brushed finish.
Examples of this design are held in the permanent collection of the Nationalmuseum, Stockholm.
Each dish is stamped to the underside with the Schreuder & Olsson mark alongside Ahlberg’s name, with differing production codes (E9, Y8, I10) indicating separate castings.
The pewter has a muted, matte surface with natural variation and light wear. One example shows a casting flaw to the underside.
