About Our Objects

Altar specialises in antique, vintage and collectible furniture, lighting, artworks and objects.

Due to the nature of our stock, most items have lived previous lives and may show signs of age, wear, repairs or restoration. These characteristics are part of each piece’s history and are reflected in our pricing.

We make every effort to describe and photograph each item accurately. Additional images and condition information are available on request prior to purchase.

Unless otherwise stated, all items are sold as seen. As we are not the manufacturers, we cannot provide guarantees in relation to performance, suitability or safety. Buyers are responsible for satisfying themselves as to suitability prior to use, particularly in commercial contexts.

Prices, Payment & Delivery

All prices are shown in GBP.

Delivery is not included unless stated. Collection is available from our Brixton showroom by appointment. UK and international delivery can be arranged at an additional cost.

Overseas customers are responsible for any import duties, taxes or customs charges.

If an item arrives damaged, please notify us within 48 hours of delivery with photographs of both item and packaging. All original packaging must be retained until the issue is resolved.



Returns

All showroom purchases are sold as seen and are non-refundable once collected.

Online purchases may be returned in line with UK consumer law within 14 days of receipt, provided items are returned in original condition. Return shipping and insurance are the responsibility of the buyer.

Outside of statutory consumer rights, all sales are considered final. Store credit may be offered at Altar's discretion.

Trade and business-to-business sales are final.



Privacy

We respect your privacy and handle all customer information responsibly.

Personal data is used solely for order processing, delivery and communication. We do not sell or share data with third parties except where required to fulfil orders or by law.

We do not store payment card details.

You may unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time.
