1930s Small Folk Turquoise Bench

£320.00
sold out

This charming bench, sourced in Sweden, showcases early 20th-century folk craftsmanship. Hand-painted in soft turquoise, it features a curved kidney-shaped seat supported by barrel-style legs. The seat is framed with solid metal scalloped edging, now showing a rich, natural patina.

The backrest is formed from thick, hand-bent metal rod, giving the piece a sturdy, utilitarian feel consistent with small-workshop or homemade furniture of the period.

Likely produced between the 1920s–40s, the bench shows honest age-related wear, including layered paint and oxidised metal, which adds to its character.

Well suited as a child’s bench, plant stand, or sculptural accent, it would sit particularly well beneath a window, in a conservatory, or in a light-filled hallway, where its colour and form can be fully appreciated.

Length: 92cm
Width: 45cm
Seat height: 41cm
Total height: 73cm
